All the BravoPOS applications are Microsoft based at their core for reliable software deployments.
The BravoPOS framework was created using tested and proven tools from Microsoft that have been used to write hundres of thousands of applications in use today. These technologies include XML, SQL Server, Microsoft .NET, and web services.
BravoPOS is 100% wireless, including even the kitchen and expedite printers. This means BravoPOS can be deployed in locations that traditionally you could not safely run wires through.
The installation of a BravoPOS system involves setting up the handheld devices with wireless technology and BravoCE, setting up the terminals with BravoPC, installing BravoServer and BravoManager, and placing repeaters in key places throughout the restaurant.
BravoCE is a Windows CE application intended to run on the PocketPC. PocketPC is a general term to indicate any handheld device running the Windows CE operating system version 4.1 or greater. The specific device used at this time is either the IPAQ or the Symbol PPT depending on the durability requirements. However, any PocketPC that has wireless capabilities can be used instead.
